"We must communicate with our customers and catch the trend as a latecomer."

〈‘70s~〉

In 1972, Tentos Co., Ltd., the predecessor of the current TENTAC established in Ryogoku, Sumida Ward, Tokyo, as a wholesaler of apparel subsidiary materials. We are a latecomer to the apparel subsidiary material industry with a long history.
The founders, Yuji Hashimoto and Kunihiko Hashimoto, came from families of woven label manufacturers in Fukui.
TENTAC's management philosophy of grasping the needs of the times and sticking to how we can create new value has been passed down to the present day.

Transforming into a Comprehensive Material Manufacturer integrating Production and Sales

〈‘80s~〉

In 1982, the company merged with Sansho Teltac in order to expanding its scale, and the company name was changed to TENTAC.
In anticipation of the future potential of barcode tags, which were spreading at the time, we established our own factory dedicated to barcode tags in Koshigaya, Saitama Prefecture, making an unprecedented shift in the industry at the time, from being a wholesaler to producing materials of our own.
After that, anticipating the changing times, we continued to strengthen our production capabilities by developing our own original production software and barcode printers in-house, established large-scale factories in China, Thailand, and Vietnam, and started in-house production of film packages and transfer marks, which are all industry firsts.
Currently, we have the top share in the domestic apparel subsidiary materials industry, and our in-house production ratio exceeds 80%. In addition, we are also supplying production outside other than the apparel industry, utilizing our production capacity for a wide variety of materials.

Challenge to achieve an In-House Production Volume of Billion RFID Tags

〈’10s~〉

In the 2010s, barcode tags, which triggered the expansion of TENTAC, and RFID tags, which are upward compatible with non-contact and capable of high-speed reading, began to be used in Europe and the United States.
At that time, introduction costs were high, and it was unclear when existing customers would start using RFID tags. TENTAC decided independently developed and installed large-scale manufacturing facilities for RFID tags at all of its global locations, to secure its own production capacity of 1 billion tags per year.
It was the biggest challenge since the company's founding, but fortunately, the demand for RFID tags spread rapidly after that, and "RFID tags" became a main product that could be said to be synonymous with TENTAC.

RFID and Sustainable Materials rapid growth in Materials Sales and Diversification of Management.

〈’20s~〉

The apparel industry is said to be the most active industry in introducing RFID and sustainable materials.
In the sustainable field, we have formed partnerships with excellent companies with various technologies for the purpose of selling to the apparel industry, and have jointly developed many unique products.
In addition, our unique products, which have excellent features such as performance and cost, are also popular outside the apparel industry, and sales are expanding in various fields.
From 2022, RFID tags and sustainable materials, which have particularly high needs, will be established as an independent business division, and a system will be established to respond more quickly to customer requests in a wide range of industries.
