Environmental Considerations, Advance to the Next Level
Many companies are "receiving more orders for labels, tags, and packages as apparel makers' production recovered" (Masuso).
However, it is becoming increasingly difficult to maintain prices without compromising quality due to raw material price hikes and labor wage increases.
While "adhering to a versatile sales style that responds to needs," (Masuso), the company is also becoming more active in digging deeper into environmental considerations and creating recycling mechanisms.
Tentac is strengthening its development and sales of paper materials in response to the de-plasticization trend. Paper materials such as keepers and hooks are now available as the "kaminano" series, which can be selected according to function, cost, and texture.
Strengthening development and sales of paper materials (Tentac)
There are three types of materials: regular kaminano, which has the same strength and elasticity as plastic; kaminano Light, which is inferior to kaminano in resilience but easier to switch from plastic due to its cost advantage; and kaminano board, a textured kraft paper made from recycled paper such as rice bags. The kaminano series uses specially reinforced paper made from 100% natural cellulose fiber base paper that has been broken down to the nano-level and re-agglomerated and bound together. The integrated production process, developed jointly with a major paper manufacturer, offers cost advantages, and the company is particular about the ease of switching to paper.
